Hammond 1550Z120BK Black 171 x 121 x 55 mm Watertight Diecast Box

The 1550Z120BK is the black textured version of the 1550Z120 thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure, measuring 6.74 in x 4.77 in x 2.18 in (171 mm x 121 mm x 55 mm). It is aimed at engineers and integrators who want a rugged instrument housing with a finished black appearance for panels, field equipment and OEM products.

The finish is a tough polyester powder coat applied outside and inside the enclosure, intended to last even after machining. Underneath, the box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, and the walls carry no internal ribs, so connectors can be fitted without interference or extra milling.

A pre-formed, one-piece silicone gasket seats in the lid groove and is rated -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F). Recommended cover screw torque is 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m), and the inside of the box accepts a #6 self tapping ground screw. The drawing notes there are no mounting holes on this box.

The 1550Z120BK is rated IP68 and NEMA 4, 4X, 12 & 13, carries an IK08 impact rating per IEC62262, is cUL and UL listed under file #E71073, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. It ships shrink wrapped at 1.41 lbs (0.64 kg) with box, lid, gasket and 6 cover screws.
