Hammond 1550WM 120 x 100 mm Diecast Aluminum Box with IP66 Gasket

The 1550WM is a low-profile 120 mm x 100 mm diecast aluminum enclosure in the 1550 Series, supplied in natural aluminum with an IP66 gasket. It is a practical housing for OEM circuit boards, sensor interfaces and instrument electronics where a slim, water-tight metal box is needed.

Its die-cast aluminum alloy is tough yet easy to machine, and the unpainted surface is vibra finished for a smooth feel with no sharp edges. The lid closes on a lap joint that protects against dust and splashing water and is secured by M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Philips head machine screws threaded into factory tapped holes.

Hammond lists the 1550WM at 4.74 in x 3.95 in x 1.23 in (120 mm x 100 mm x 31 mm); the series table gives a nominal 4.72 x 3.94 x 1.38 in (120 x 100 x 35 mm) including the 4 mm (0.16 in) lid. Inside, the drawing shows 115.28 mm [4.54 in] of box length and 95.28 mm [3.75 in] of box width. Shipping weight is 0.49 lbs (0.22 kg).

Smooth internal walls without ribs let connectors go in without additional milling, and a 2° lower side-wall draft angle eases PC board mounting. The series is designed to meet IP54 without a gasket and IP66 with one; this part ships with the EVA foam gasket loose inside, rated up to 65°C (149°F), to be fitted with lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m.

The 1550WM is RoHS and REACH compliant and packed in shrink wrap. Spare IP66 gaskets are 1550MEGASKET, and 1550MSGASKET silicone gaskets upgrade the box to IP67. Factory modification and .stp or .x_t solid models are available.
