The 1550WL is a natural-finish watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1550 Series, measuring 6.50 in (165 mm) x 5.00 in (127 mm) x 3.03 in (77 mm) including the lid. It is supplied with an IP66 EVA foam gasket and is rated IP66, making it a practical housing for electronics builders, OEM engineers and integrators whose circuits face dust and water.
The 1550L size measures 165 x 127 mm with 77 mm of overall height, one step up in footprint from the 1550K at the same height. Per the drawing, the inside box measures 157.73 mm [6.21 in] long by 119.73 mm [4.71 in] wide with 72.50 mm [2.85 in] of inside height, and the box stands 72.50 mm [2.85 in] tall without the 4 mm lid.
The rugged die-cast alloy is tough yet easy to machine. It has a natural vibra finish, which leaves a smooth plain-aluminum surface with no sharp edges. Walls have no internal ribs, so connectors fit without interference or extra milling, and the low side wall draft angle (2° less) makes PC board mounting easier. The lid is secured by M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Phillips head screws into factory tapped holes.
The EVA foam gasket ships loose inside the enclosure and is rated up to 65°C (149°F); installed properly with the lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m the 1550WL is designed to meet IP66. Spares are 1550LEGASKET (IP66) and the silicone IP67 upgrade is 1550LSGASKET. The same size without a gasket is 1550L (natural) or 1550LBK (black).
RoHS and REACH compliant, shipped in shrink wrap at 1.12 lbs (0.51 kg). UPC 623980404004, UNSPSC 39121301. Solid models are available in .stp or .x_t, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
