Hammond 1550WK 140x102x77 mm Natural Watertight Diecast Aluminum Box

The 1550WK is a natural-finish watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1550 Series, measuring 5.51 in (140 mm) x 4.02 in (102 mm) x 3.03 in (77 mm) including the lid. It is supplied with an IP66 EVA foam gasket and is rated IP66, making it a practical housing for electronics builders, OEM engineers and integrators whose circuits face dust and water.

The 1550K size combines a compact 140 x 102 mm footprint with a comparatively tall 77 mm overall height for stacked boards or tall components. Per the drawing, the inside box measures 132.32 mm [5.21 in] long by 94.32 mm [3.71 in] wide with 73.30 mm [2.89 in] of inside height, and the box stands 72.50 mm [2.85 in] tall without the 4 mm lid.

The rugged die-cast alloy is tough yet easy to machine. It has a natural vibra finish, which leaves a smooth plain-aluminum surface with no sharp edges. Walls have no internal ribs, so connectors fit without interference or extra milling, and the low side wall draft angle (2° less) makes PC board mounting easier. The lid is secured by M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Phillips head screws into factory tapped holes.

The EVA foam gasket ships loose inside the enclosure and is rated up to 65°C (149°F); installed properly with the lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m the 1550WK is designed to meet IP66. Spares are 1550KEGASKET (IP66) and the silicone IP67 upgrade is 1550KSGASKET. The same size without a gasket is 1550K (natural) or 1550KBK (black).
