The 1550WJ is a natural-finish watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1550 Series, measuring 10.83 in (275 mm) x 6.89 in (175 mm) x 2.64 in (67 mm) including the lid. It is supplied with an IP66 EVA foam gasket and is rated IP66, making it a practical housing for electronics builders, OEM engineers and integrators whose circuits face dust and water.
The 1550J size is the longest in the 1550 ordering table at 275 mm, with a 175 mm width and 67 mm overall height for long boards and multi-connector panels. Per the drawing, the inside box measures 266.91 mm [10.51 in] long by 166.91 mm [6.57 in] wide with 61.60 mm [2.43 in] of inside height, and the box stands 62.50 mm [2.46 in] tall without the 4 mm lid.
The rugged die-cast alloy is tough yet easy to machine. It has a natural vibra finish, which leaves a smooth plain-aluminum surface with no sharp edges. Walls have no internal ribs, so connectors fit without interference or extra milling, and the low side wall draft angle (2° less) makes PC board mounting easier. The lid is secured by M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Phillips head screws into factory tapped holes.
The EVA foam gasket ships loose inside the enclosure and is rated up to 65°C (149°F); installed properly with the lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m the 1550WJ is designed to meet IP66. Spares are 1550JEGASKET (IP66) and the silicone IP67 upgrade is 1550JSGASKET. The same size without a gasket is 1550J (natural) or 1550JBK (black).
RoHS and REACH compliant, shipped in shrink wrap at 2.25 lbs (1.02 kg). UPC 623980057637, UNSPSC 39121301. Solid models are available in .stp or .x_t, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
