Hammond 1550MBK 120×100×31 mm Black Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1550MBK is a black diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1550 Series, with a 120 x 100 mm footprint and a slim 31 mm body height. Its listed size is 4.74 in x 3.95 in x 1.23 in (120 mm x 100 mm x 31 mm). It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and builders who want a rugged, machinable metal case for instruments, control circuits or effects pedals, finished in black.

Inside, the drawing gives 115.28 x 95.28 mm [4.54 x 3.75 in] with 32.10 mm [1.26 in] of height, a flat cavity sized for a single low-profile board. The series ordering table lists this size as 4.72 in (120 mm) long, 3.94 in (100 mm) wide and 1.38 in (35 mm) high, a figure that includes the 4 mm (0.16 in) lid; the drawing shows 35.37 mm [1.39 in] overall with the lid fitted. As supplied, without a gasket, the 1550MBK is rated IP54. Adding the 1550MEGASKET EVA foam gasket kit brings it to IP66, and the 1550MSGASKET silicone kit is the IP67 upgrade (with properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m). The same size in natural aluminum is the 1550M, and the version shipped with an IP66 gasket is the 1550WMBK. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap.
