The 153E is a D.C. reactor, or filter choke, from the 153-159 Series of low to medium current chokes, rated 7H (+/- 15%) at 25 ma. D.C. current. It is intended for engineers and technicians building or repairing power supplies, and the series is described as perfect for high voltage power supply filtering. Of the four parts built on the compact C1H frame, the 153E carries the most inductance (7H) at the lowest rated current (25 ma.), which suits light-load high voltage filter stages where a high-inductance choke must fit in very little space.
Electrically it offers 770 ohms of D.C. resistance with a 15% tolerance on both inductance and resistance, and a 300 V DC maximum operating rating. Because inductance is specified at rated current, the unit shows less inductance at slightly higher currents and more at lower ones.
Construction uses an economical open bracket channel mount. Units are vacuum impregnated with polyurethane varnish for quiet operation and long life, every unit is Hipot tested (100%) at 1,500 VAC, and leads are a minimum of 5" long.
