The 1490D1 is a compact, single-hole sloped consolet from the 1490 Series of Type 12 mild steel pushbutton enclosures. It holds one 30.5 mm heavy duty oil tight pushbutton, switch or pilot light and is intended for wall or surface mounting where an angled control face is needed, such as a single-button station beside a machine.
The enclosure measures 3.50 in H x 3.25 in W x 4.88 in D (89 x 83 x 124 mm). Depending on how it is mounted, the front cover sits at either a 30° or 60° slope. The drawing shows a 3.62 x 3.87 in door with a single 1.21 in pushbutton hole, and welded mounting brackets with 0.25 in holes.
It is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. This small size is not hinged: the cover is held by captive screws that thread into sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive protect against dirt, dust, oil and water. The finish is phosphatized steel with ANSI 61 gray powder coating, and a bonding stud on the door and grounding stud on the enclosure are provided.
The 1490D1 is rated UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54 when appropriate components are fitted. For 22.5 mm operators, choose 1490MD1.
