The 1486E12 is a compact 8 in x 8 in x 12 in (203 mm x 203 mm x 305 mm) Type 4/12 wiring trough. Its larger 8.00 in cross-section gives more room than the 6 in sizes for enclosing and protecting multiple wiring junctions from dirt, dust, oil and water in a short 12-inch length.
It is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. The butt hinged cover is secured with easily operated stainless steel screw clamps, and oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. Troughs and covers are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating.
From the drawing: the overall length is 12.000 in, the top opening is 11.25 in and the side opening is 6.73 in. The door measures 12.38 in by 8.38 in and offers 10.73 in x 6.73 in of clear space. Mounting holes are 0.31 in, spaced 10.75 in lengthwise and 8.69 in across.
The 12 gauge external mounting feet are welded to the back, giving a 9.50 in width across the feet. Shipping weight is 13 lbs (5.90 kg).
