Hammond 1486C48SS 4x4x48-Inch Type 4X Stainless Wiring Trough

The 1486C48SS is a 4 in x 4 in x 48 in Type 4X wiring trough from the 1486SS Series, built to enclose and protect multiple wiring junctions from dirt, dust, oil and water while providing a measure of corrosion protection. At four feet long, it gives electricians and panel builders a compact 4 x 4 cross-section with room to run and splice conductors along a machine or wall.

The body is formed from 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams. A butt hinged cover is held closed by easily operated screw clamps, and oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured so the seal stays in place when the cover is opened. Trough and cover are natural stainless steel with a smooth brushed finish.

Nominal size is 4 x 4 x 48 in (102 x 102 x 1,219 mm). The drawing shows a 47.21 in opening and a 48.38 in door, and the unit ships at 23 lbs (10.43 kg).

For installation, 12 gauge external mounting feet are welded to the back; the drawing shows 0.31 in mounting holes spaced 4.69 in apart across the back. It is listed to UL 870 Type 1, 12, 4 and 4X and CSA Type 1, 12, 4 and 4X (UL File E186830, CSA Cert. LL21312), complies with NEMA Type 12, 4 and 4X and IEC 60529 IP66, and is marked REACH and RoHS compliant.
