Hammond 1457L1601 160x104x32mm IP65 Extruded Aluminum Enclosure, Clear

The 1457L1601 uses the wide, low L-profile extrusion at a 160 mm length, giving a 104 mm wide, 32 mm high watertight housing designed to meet IP65. It takes the largest board area of the J, K and L sizes listed here - up to 159 x 99 mm per the part data - in a low-height case with plain end panels.

The extrusion has a clear anodized finish and is paired with black powder painted end panels. The body is a single piece of 6063 extruded aluminum with a minimum thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm), while the end panels are ADC-12 Diecast Aluminum - rugged yet easy to machine for cable entries, connectors or controls. A 0.75 mm (.030") deep recess on the body is provided for labels or a membrane keypad. If you need a black body instead, order 1457L1601BK.

Nominal size is 6.3 in x 4.09 in x 1.26 in (160 mm x 104 mm x 32 mm). On the drawing the assembled length with end panels is 171.15 mm [6.738 in], the end panels measure 106.96 mm [4.211 in] wide by 34.92 mm [1.375 in] high, the extrusion is 32.00 mm [1.260 in] high and the inside face-to-face dimension is 160.00 ±0.50 mm [6.299 ±0.020 in]. PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots; the drawing states it fits a 160mm (6.299") X 100mm (3.937") PCB and the part page gives a maximum board of 159 mm x 99 mm. Flat end panels suit bench or free-standing use; the flanged equivalent is 1457L1602.

Each assembly includes the box, two end panels, two closed-cell polyethylene foam end plate gaskets, #6 Taptight stainless steel screws with rubber O-rings and self-adhesive rubber feet. The thread-forming screws are black zinc plated for corrosion protection to ASTM B633-13, with a recommended torque of 5 lbf/in; replacement screws come in packs of 100 as 1457MS100. The part is REACH and RoHS compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.23 lbs (0.10 kg).
