Hammond 1457L1201BK 120x104x32mm IP65 Extruded Aluminum Enclosure, Black

The 1457L1201BK is a 120 mm long enclosure built on the wide, low L profile: 104 mm across and 32 mm high. The extra width lets it take a PC board up to 119 x 99 mm, so it is a good fit for designers who need a broader board area in a short, low-height housing designed to meet IP65.

This version has a black powder coat extrusion; the drawing describes it as a black powder painted box and end panels. The one-piece extruded body is made from 6063 aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm), and the end panels are ADC-12 Diecast Aluminum with a black powder paint finish that is easy to machine for connectors, glands or switches. A 0.75 mm (.030") deep recess on the body accepts a label or membrane keypad. The same size with a clear anodized body is 1457L1201.

Nominal size is 4.73 in x 4.09 in x 1.26 in (120 mm x 104 mm x 32 mm). On the drawing the assembled length with end panels is 131.15 mm [5.163 in], the end panels measure 106.96 mm [4.211 in] wide by 34.92 mm [1.375 in] high, the extrusion is 32.00 mm [1.260 in] high and the inside face-to-face dimension is 120.00 ±0.20 mm [4.724 ±0.008 in]. PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots; the drawing states it fits a 120mm (4.724") X 100mm (3.937") PCB and the part page gives a maximum board of 119 mm x 99 mm. Flat end panels suit bench or free-standing use; the flanged equivalent is 1457L1202BK.

Each assembly includes the box, two end panels, two closed-cell polyethylene foam end plate gaskets, #6 Taptight stainless steel screws with rubber O-rings and self-adhesive rubber feet. The thread-forming screws are black zinc plated for corrosion protection to ASTM B633-13, with a recommended torque of 5 lbf/in; replacement screws come in packs of 100 as 1457MS100. The part is REACH and RoHS compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.25 lbs (0.11 kg).
