Hammond 1456FH3BKBK 6.5 x 8.3 in 15° Sloped Aluminum Console, All Black

The 1456FH3BKBK is a 15-degree sloped aluminum console, 6.50 in (165 mm) wide and 8.30 in (211 mm) deep, rising from a 1.30 in (33 mm) front to a 3.00 in (76 mm) rear for desk-top instruments that need a little more internal height than a slim console. This version has a black top panel on a black case for an all-black finish, the only colour option in the 1456 table that replaces the textured blue case.

Hammond lists the nominal size as 8.3 in x 6.5 in x 3 in (211 mm x 165 mm x 76 mm). The part drawing shows overall extents of 168.28 mm [6.63 in] wide, 218.67 mm [8.61 in] deep and 81.43 mm [3.21 in] high. Compared with the 15-degree 1456FH2 of the same width, it trades 0.20 in of depth for a full inch more rear height.

The case is 12 gauge aluminum, 0.081 in (2 mm) thick, and the top panel is 14 gauge aluminum, 0.064 in thick. It is sold pre-assembled; the purchased assembly includes the case, cover, 4 cover screws and 4 self-adhesive rubber feet, and the case is vented on the rear and bottom. Hammond recommends a cover screw torque of 150-175 cN-m (13.3-15.5 lbf-in).

The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and carries an IP31 rating, ships shrink wrapped at 1.46 lbs (0.66 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) on request. Solid models are available in STEP or IGES, and replacement cover screws are sold as 1421J6 (natural finish) or 1421J6BK (black), with spare rubber feet as 1421T3.
