Hammond 1456FH2BKBK 6.5 x 8.5 in 15° Sloped Aluminum Console, All Black

The 1456FH2BKBK is a low-profile, 15-degree sloped console: 6.50 in (165 mm) wide, 8.50 in (216 mm) deep and only 2.00 in (51 mm) high at the rear, for slim desktop controllers and readout units that sit close to the user. This version has a black top panel on a black case for an all-black finish, the only colour option in the 1456 table that replaces the textured blue case.

Front height is 1.10 in (28 mm), so the gentle 15-degree top presents switches and displays at a shallow viewing angle. Hammond's nominal size is 8.5 in x 6.5 in x 2 in (216 mm x 165 mm x 51 mm); the drawing gives overall extents of 168.28 mm [6.63 in] wide, 222.66 mm [8.77 in] deep and 56.03 mm [2.21 in] high. Among the 6.5 in wide 1456 models, this is the one with the longest depth (8.50 in) combined with the lowest 2.00 in rear height.

The case is 12 gauge aluminum, 0.081 in (2 mm) thick, and the top panel is 14 gauge aluminum, 0.064 in thick. It is sold pre-assembled; the purchased assembly includes the case, cover, 4 cover screws and 4 self-adhesive rubber feet, and the case is vented on the rear and bottom. Hammond recommends a cover screw torque of 150-175 cN-m (13.3-15.5 lbf-in).

The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and carries an IP31 rating, ships shrink wrapped at 1.35 lbs (0.61 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) on request. Solid models are available in STEP or IGES, and replacement cover screws are sold as 1421J6 (natural finish) or 1421J6BK (black), with spare rubber feet as 1421T3.
