Hammond 1456CE2WHCWW 4 x 5.5 in 15° Sloped Console with Walnut Sides

The 1456CE2WHCWW is the smallest console in the 1456CWW walnut-sided family: a 15-degree sloped instrument enclosure just 4.00 in (102 mm) wide and 5.50 in (140 mm) deep, rising from a 1.10 in (28 mm) front to a 2.00 in (51 mm) rear. It suits hobbyists, audio builders and OEM designers who want a small desk-top control box with a classic wood-and-metal look.

Solid oiled walnut side panels sit on a black, ventilated steel base made of 0.057" steel. Because the walnut is real, each piece has its own colour and grain. The top is 0.064" aluminum powder painted in a satin contempra grey (beige), a thickness that is easy to drill for a few controls or a small display.

Hammond's drawing gives an inner box length of 136.85 mm [5.39 in] and inner box heights of 49.17 mm [1.94 in] at the rear and 25.86 mm [1.02 in] at the front, useful when checking whether a board or battery pack will fit. The case comes with the wooden sides, adhesive rubber feet and required hardware; replacement cover screws are 1421J6 (6-32 x 1/4 in, pack of 6) and spare black rubber feet are 1421T3 (pack of 24).

The 1456CE2WHCWW can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), and solid models are available in STEP or IGES. It ships in shrink wrap at 1.18 lbs (0.54 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Hammond notes the 1456CWW line will soon be discontinued as a stocked series and is available while quantities last.
