Hammond 1455U2202BK 220 mm Black Anodized Enclosure, Plastic End Caps

The 1455U2202BK is a black anodized extruded aluminum PC board enclosure from the 1455 Series, sized 8.66 in x 7.5 in x 2.6 in (220 mm x 191 mm x 66 mm). It is the mid-length 1455U body and offers a 220 mm body for boards up to 220 mm long and 186.48 mm wide, which makes it a fit for OEM engineers, electronics designers and integrators who need a rugged housing for circuit boards or for equipment interfacing.

The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm) and is IP54 rated. PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into slots extruded into the enclosure body; the extrusion is designed for a 186 mm wide PC board, and the maximum board size is 220 mm long by 186.48 mm wide. This model also includes the removable sliding plate.

This version ships with plastic end plates: two closed black end panels (closed bezels) that cap both ends of the black anodized extrusion. The closed end panels are black whichever anodize colour the body is, and are also sold separately in other colours for 1455 enclosures. If you need flat aluminum end panels instead, order the metal-ended equivalent, 1455U2201BK.

Every 1455U2202BK comes as a complete enclosure with four adhesive rubber feet and #6 x 3/8 in thread-rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive. As a black version it includes black screws; recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in. The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink-wrapped at 2.05 lbs (0.93 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), with solid models available in STEP or IGES.
