Hammond 1455U2801 280 mm Clear Anodized Enclosure, Aluminum End Panels

The 1455U2801 is a clear anodized extruded aluminum PC board enclosure from the 1455 Series, sized 11 in x 7.5 in x 2.6 in (279 mm x 191 mm x 66 mm). It is the longest 1455U body and offers a 280 mm body for boards up to 280 mm long, the longest board capacity in the 1455U range, which makes it a fit for OEM engineers, electronics designers and integrators who need a rugged housing for circuit boards or for equipment interfacing.

The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm) and is IP54 rated. PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into slots extruded into the enclosure body; the extrusion is designed for a 186 mm wide PC board, and the maximum board size is 280 mm long by 186.48 mm wide. This model also includes the removable sliding plate. The part page lists the size as 279 mm long, while the ordering table and drawing give the length as 280 mm (280.00 ± 0.50 mm).

This version ships with metal end plates: two flat aluminum end panels, colour matched to the clear anodized housing, plus two open black plastic bezels that frame them. The drawing shows each end panel at 1.63 mm (0.064 in) thick with countersunk screw holes (Ø0.165 in thru, Ø0.230 in x 82°). If you would rather have closed plastic end caps, the matching part is 1455U2802.

Every 1455U2801 comes as a complete enclosure with four adhesive rubber feet and #6 x 3/8 in thread-rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive. As a clear version it includes natural screws; recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in. The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink-wrapped at 2.6 lbs (1.18 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), with solid models available in STEP or IGES.
