Hammond 1455N1601BK 160x103x53mm Black Aluminum Enclosure, Metal Ends

The 1455N1601BK is a black anodized extruded aluminum PC board enclosure measuring 160 mm x 103 mm x 53 mm (6.3 in x 4.06 in x 2.09 in), fitted with metal end panels. It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need to house a PC board or interface equipment in a rugged metal case. The 160 mm length sits in the middle of the 103 x 53 mm body sizes and takes a board up to 159 mm x 99 mm.

The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm), and PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots extruded into the enclosure body. The drawing notes the extrusion is designed for a 100 mm wide PC board; the box is made from extruded aluminum 6063. This size appears in the manufacturer's table of enclosures with a sliding plate, so the base includes a removable sliding plate.

As a metal end plate version, the 1455N1601BK includes two flat aluminum end panels color matched to the black housing, two open plastic bezels in black, four adhesive rubber feet and #6 x 3/8 in thread rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive (black screws on this black finish). Recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in. The drawing lists the bezels as polycarbonate. The drawing also shows optional 1455NF flange end panels for this body.
