Hammond 1455A802BK 80x70x12mm Black Anodized Extruded Aluminum Enclosure

The 1455A802BK is a black anodized extruded aluminum enclosure with plastic end panels from the 1455 Series, measuring 3.15 in x 2.76 in x 0.47 in (80 mm x 70 mm x 12 mm). Designed to house PC boards or for equipment interfacing, it suits electronics designers, OEM engineers and hobbyists building slim, low-profile devices. This is the black anodized finish of the 80 mm-long A-size enclosure, whose 80 mm length is the shortest of the 80, 100 and 120 mm A-size options; it is supplied with black end-panel screws.

The box is made from extruded aluminum 6063, with the series specifying a minimum body thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm), and the bezels are made from polycarbonate. PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots extruded into the enclosure body. The extrusion is designed for 60 mm wide x 80 mm long PC boards, with a maximum board size of 79 mm long by 59.5 mm wide. This A-size model is listed among the enclosures without a sliding plate.

The purchased assembly includes the box, plastic bezels, #6 Taptight screws and self-adhesive rubber feet. Per the series, plastic end-plate versions include two closed end panels in black, four adhesive rubber feet, and #6 x 3/8" thread rolling steel end-panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive; black anodized versions include black screws. Recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in.

The 1455A802BK is rated IP54 and is RoHS and REACH compliant. The drawing shows an overall length of 81.00 ± 0.50 mm [3.189 ± 0.020 in], and it ships shrink wrapped at 0.14 lbs (0.06 kg). Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
