The Hammond 1444-95525 is a mid-size 9.5 x 5 in chassis with a 2.5 in height, sitting between the 2 in and 3 in versions of the same footprint. It is an open-bottom, natural-finish aluminum chassis from the 1444 Series, aimed at electronics hobbyists, audio and instrument builders and OEM engineers who need a rigid, easy-to-machine platform for mounting transformers, sockets, controls and circuit boards.
The chassis is spot welded for heavy-duty construction and is formed from 0.040" aluminum (0.04 in (1 mm) in the series table) in a natural aluminum finish. Material is listed as aluminum and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
Per the series table the 1444-95525 measures 9.50 in (241 mm) wide, 5.00 in (127 mm) deep and 2.50 in (64 mm) high. The drawing gives an inner box width of 124.97 mm [4.92 in], inner box length of 239.27 mm [9.42 in] and inner box height of 61.47 mm [2.42 in]. The 1434-955 bottom plate also fits the 1444-9552 (2 in high) and 1444-9553 (3 in high) chassis on the same 9.5 x 5 in footprint.
The bottom plate (1434-955) is optional and sold separately; optional bottom plates are punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter. Bottom plate hardware is not provided: order part 1421J6, a package of 6 plated 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping cover screws. Note that the 1451 Series steel chassis covers are not compatible with this series.
The enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), and solid models are available in STEP or IGES format for layout work before you cut metal.
