Hammond 1444-9 8x4x1 Inch Natural Aluminum Chassis

The 1444-9 is an 8 in x 4 in x 1 in (203 mm x 102 mm x 25 mm) aluminum chassis, one of the 1 in high options in the 1444 Series. Its shallow profile suits flat circuit boards, control panels and slim audio or instrument builds where height is limited.

It is a spot welded, heavy duty chassis made of 0.040 in aluminum (0.04 in / 1 mm per the ordering table) in a natural aluminum finish. The protective covering on the aluminum can be used as a layout surface, per the series photo notes.

Internal dimensions from the drawing are 201.16 mm [7.92 in] inner box length, 99.56 mm [3.92 in] inner box width and 23.37 mm [0.92 in] inner box height, so check component heights against that 0.92 in clearance.

The bottom is open. The matching bottom plate is 1434-10, the same plate used on the 2 in high 1444-10, made of 0.040 in aluminum and punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter. Plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of 6, 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping) are also sold separately. The 1451 series steel chassis covers are not compatible.

The 1444-9 ships in shrink wrap at 0.24 lbs (0.11 kg) and is REACH and RoHS compliant. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available and STEP or IGES models can be supplied.
