Hammond 1444-33CWW 17x10x4 Inch Aluminum Chassis with Walnut Sides

The 1444-33CWW is the 17 in x 10 in x 4 in (432 mm x 254 mm x 102 mm) aluminum chassis with solid walnut side panels. The 4 in height and wooden ends suit large tube amplifiers and audio builds that need generous under-chassis space and a finished look.

The chassis is spot welded, heavy duty 0.051 in aluminum (0.05 in / 1 mm in the ordering table) with a natural aluminum finish. The walnut side panels are routed out to fit over the ends of the chassis, which is pre-punched for mounting; each side fastens with four machine screws and lockwashers into metal inserts to avoid wood damage, and the screws should not be torqued past 4.43 lbf.in (50 cN.m).

The drawing notes that the chassis includes the wooden sides, adhesive rubber feet and required hardware. Assembled, it measures 449.58 mm [17.70 in] long and 266.70 mm [10.50 in] wide, with walnut sides 114.30 mm [4.50 in] high. The inner box is 251.41 mm [9.90 in] wide and 99.01 mm [3.90 in] high. The walnut inset reduces the usable surface of the chassis front, back and top by roughly 7/8 in (22 mm).

Bottom plate 1434-30 and plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of 6, 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping) are sold separately; clear self-adhesive rubber feet are available as 1421T6CL (package of 24). The 1451 series steel covers are not compatible.

The 1444-33CWW is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap at 2.5 lbs (1.13 kg).
