The 1444-22 is a 12 in x 8 in x 2 in (305 mm x 203 mm x 51 mm) aluminum chassis. Its generous footprint suits tube amplifiers, audio power supplies and larger electronics projects that need a larger top panel and more interior space.
It is spot welded, heavy duty construction in 0.051 in aluminum (listed as 0.05 in / 1 mm in the ordering table), a heavier gauge than the smaller 0.040 in chassis, with a natural aluminum finish. The protective covering on the aluminum doubles as a layout surface, per the series photo notes.
The drawing gives inner box dimensions of 302.21 mm [11.90 in] long, 200.61 mm [7.90 in] wide and 48.21 mm [1.90 in] high. Shipping weight is 0.9 lbs (0.41 kg).
A version with solid walnut side panels is available as 1444-22CWW. For the 1444-22, all components are sold separately: natural-finish bottom plate 1434-22 (0.051 in aluminum, punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter) and plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws). The 1451 series steel covers are not compatible.
The 1444-22 is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships in shrink wrap. It can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing, and STEP or IGES solid models are available.
