The 1444-16 is a 10 in x 6 in x 2 in (254 mm x 152 mm x 51 mm) aluminum chassis, a mid-size option in the 1444 Series for tube amplifiers, audio preamps, power supplies and other electronics that need a roomy but low metal base.
The chassis is spot welded, heavy duty construction in 0.040 in aluminum (0.04 in / 1 mm) with a natural aluminum finish. Its protective covering can be used as a layout tool when planning holes, according to the series photo notes.
The drawing lists inner box dimensions of 251.97 mm [9.92 in] long, 150.37 mm [5.92 in] wide and 48.77 mm [1.92 in] high. Shipping weight is 0.52 lbs (0.24 kg).
If you want wooden ends, the same size is offered with solid walnut sides as 1444-16CWW. For the 1444-16, all components are sold separately: natural-finish bottom plate 1434-16 (0.040 in aluminum, punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter) and plated cover screws 1421J6 (six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws). The 1451 series steel covers are not compatible.
The 1444-16 is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap. It can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), and STEP or IGES solid models are available.
