The 1444-14 is a 9 in x 5 in x 2 in (229 mm x 127 mm x 51 mm) aluminum chassis. The extra length over the 7 in models gives more room along the front and back panels for jacks, switches and controls, making it a fit for audio, tube and general electronics builds.
It is a spot welded, heavy duty chassis in 0.040 in aluminum (0.04 in / 1 mm) with a natural aluminum finish. The series photo notes point out that the protective covering on the aluminum is useful as a layout tool.
The drawing gives inner box dimensions of 226.57 mm [8.92 in] long, 124.97 mm [4.92 in] wide and 48.77 mm [1.92 in] high. The chassis ships at 0.33 lbs (0.15 kg).
Close the underside with natural-finish bottom plate 1434-14, 0.040 in aluminum punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter, fastened with plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws). All components are sold separately from the 1444-14, and the 1451 series steel chassis covers are not compatible.
The 1444-14 is RoHS and REACH compliant and packaged in shrink wrap. It can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
