Hammond 1437SSS 16-Hole 30.5mm 304 Stainless Pushbutton Enclosure

When a single operator station needs many devices, the 1437SSS provides sixteen 30.5mm openings in one extra deep 304 stainless steel enclosure. It belongs to the 1437SS Series, designed to accept standard heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights while protecting them from dirt, dust, oil and water.

Construction is formed 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and a natural stainless steel finish with a smooth brushed surface. Captive cover screws fasten into threaded, sealed wells; an oil resistant gasket and adhesive seal the cover; and a bonding stud on the door is paired with a grounding stud on the enclosure. The series notes that its larger enclosures provide internally hinged removable covers designed to hold the cover open during wiring.

Nominal size is 11.75 in x 10.75 in x 4.75 in (298 mm x 273 mm x 121 mm). Its drawing gives a 12.75 in overall height, an 11.12 in door width, a door opening of 9.01 in by 10.62 in, a 4.91 in overall depth and Ø1.21 in holes on 2.25 in centres. Welded brackets provide for mounting with Ø0.25 in holes on 9.88 in x 12.25 in centres. The listed shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg).

The series is rated UL 508A Type 4 and 4X and CSA Enclosure 4 and 4X and complies with NEMA Type 4 and 4X and IEC 60529 IP66, with appropriate components required to maintain these standards.
