The 1437SSA is a compact, single-hole enclosure for one 30.5mm operator, made in 304 stainless steel as part of the extra deep 1437SS Series. It is designed to accept a standard heavy duty oil tight pushbutton, switch or pilot light and protects it from dirt, dust, oil and water, which suits individual stop, start or indicator points around machinery.
Formed from 16 gauge steel, the enclosure has smooth, continuously welded seams and a natural stainless steel brushed finish. The 1-hole size is not hinged: its cover is held by captive screws fastening into threaded, sealed wells and sealed with an oil resistant gasket and adhesive. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure.
The enclosure measures 4 in x 4 in x 4.75 in (102 mm x 102 mm x 121 mm). Drawing dimensions include a 4.75 in overall height, a 4.37 in square door, a 4.91 in overall depth and a Ø1.21 in pushbutton hole. Welded brackets provide for mounting, with Ø0.25 in holes on 3.12 in x 4.50 in centres. The 1437SSA ships boxed at 3 lbs (1.36 kg).
Series ratings are UL 508A Type 4 and 4X and CSA Enclosure 4 and 4X, and the design complies with NEMA Type 4 and 4X and IEC 60529 IP66; appropriate components are required to maintain these standards. UL file E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001 apply, and the part is REACH and RoHS compliant.
