The 1431-10 is an 8 in x 4 in steel bottom plate for Hammond's 1441 series steel chassis. It serves two chassis heights: the 1441-9 (1.00 in high) and the 1441-10 (2.00 in high), in both grey and satin black (1441-9BK3 and 1441-10BK3). It is intended for builders of classic, vintage-style and tube equipment, hobbyists and OEM engineers who want to enclose the underside of these chassis.
The plate is made of 0.036" steel with an ASA 61 smooth grey finish. The series specification notes that optional bottom plates are punched with 4 holes of 3/16" diameter, and the chassis now includes 1/8" holes to allow the plate to be installed. Hardware is ordered separately; the drawing lists 1421J6 natural finish or 1421J6BK black cover screws, each a package of 6 x 6-32 x 1/4" self-tapping screws.
Listed size is 8 in x 4 in x 0.04 in (203 mm x 102 mm x 1 mm); the drawing shows 203.20 mm [8.00 in] x 101.60 mm [4.00 in] at 0.91 mm [.036 in] thick. Both mating chassis are 20 gauge, 8.00 in (203 mm) wide and 4.00 in (102 mm) deep. With the 1441-10, the assembled inner box is 201.37 mm [7.93 in] x 99.77 mm [3.93 in] x 48.97 mm [1.93 in]. These chassis also accept the 1451-10 grey or 1451-10BK3 satin black perforated chassis cover.
The 1431-10 ships in a bag at 0.32 lbs (0.15 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
