Hammond 1422WW12 48x48x12 in Type 12 Two-Door Wallmount Enclosure

The 1422WW12 is a 48 x 48 x 12 in nominal NEMA Type 12 two-door wallmount enclosure from the 1422 Series, built to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments. Its pair of gasketed, overlapping doors opens the full width of the cabinet without a center post, which makes it a practical choice for control panel builders, OEM machine builders and plant electricians who need wide, unobstructed access to a large back panel on a wall.

At 48 in by 48 in this is one of the two sizes the series builds from heavier material: the body is formed 12 gauge steel with a removable 10 gauge inner panel, rather than the 14 gauge used on smaller sizes. Seams are smooth and continuously welded with no knockouts, cutouts or holes, and body stiffeners add rigidity. Welded brackets are provided for mounting the enclosure to a wall. The enclosure and cover are finished inside and out in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coat; the inner panel is white powder coat.

Overall size is 48.13 x 48.06 x 12.69 in (1,223 x 1,221 x 322 mm). The included inner panel measures 44.00 x 44.00 in, and the drawing shows a door opening of 45.31 in wide by 45.38 in high with 12.07 in of usable depth. Shipping weight is 360 lbs (163.29 kg) and the unit ships on a skid.

The continuously hinged doors can be removed by pulling the hinge pin. They close on a three point latch with roller-equipped latch rods, operated by a key locking automotive type handle, and seal on permanently secured oil resistant gaskets. Collar studs accept the inner panel, a grounding stud is fitted in the body with a bonding stud on the door, and a literature pocket sits inside the door.
