Hammond 1422VX12 42x60x12 Type 12 Two-Door Wallmount Enclosure

The 1422VX12 is the 42 x 60 size of the 1422 series Type 12 two-door wallmount enclosure, measuring 42.13 in high, 60.06 in wide and 12.69 in deep (1070 x 1526 x 322 mm). It is designed to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments, and its wide two-door front suits panel builders laying out large control panels on a wall.

The enclosure provides a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 12 and CSA Type 12 and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54 (UL file E65324, CSA certificate LR21001).

This size is one of the listed exceptions built from heavier material: the enclosure is formed 12 gauge steel and comes with a removable 10 gauge inner panel measuring 38.00 x 56.00 in (965 x 1422 mm), finished in white powder coating and mounted on collar studs. Body stiffeners add rigidity, and seams are smooth and continuously welded without knockouts, cutouts or holes.

Gasketed overlapping doors eliminate the need for a center post, and the continuously hinged doors can be removed by pulling the hinge pin. They are secured with a three point latch and key locking automotive type handle, with rollers on the latch rods and permanently secured oil resistant gaskets. Welded brackets provide for wall mounting. The part drawing shows a door opening of 57.31 x 39.38 in and 11.92 in of usable depth. Inside and out, the finish is recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating, and the 1422VX12 ships in a skid pack at 384 lbs (174.18 kg).
