Hammond 1418N4SSS8 48x36x8 In Type 4X 304 Stainless Wallmount Enclosure

The 1418N4SSS8 is a 48 x 36 x 8 in (1,219 x 914 x 203 mm) Type 4X wallmount enclosure in 304 stainless steel. It offers a 45 x 33 in inner panel in the shallowest depth of the 48 x 36 in size, for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring where equipment may be hosed down, very wet or where corrosion is a serious problem.

Every 1418 N4 SS enclosure is formed from 14 gauge stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The part drawing shows a door stiffener, which the series provides on larger enclosures for extra rigidity. The door is hung on a stainless steel continuous hinge that can be removed by pulling the hinge pin, and stainless steel clamps close it onto a seamless poured-in place gasket. A formed lip on the door and enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and there is provision for padlocking.

The removable 12 gauge inner panel is 45 in high by 33 in wide (1,143 x 838 mm), white powder coated and mounted on collar studs. The drawing shows a door opening of 33.21 in wide by 45.21 in high and 8.17 in of usable depth. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting, and a bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a door literature pocket are included.

Standards for the series: UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12; CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12; compliance with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The part lists UL File E65324 and CSA Cert. LR21001 and is RoHS and REACH compliant.

The finish is natural stainless steel with a smooth brushed surface. The 1418N4SSS8 ships boxed at 207 lbs (93.89 kg). For 316 stainless steel, the equivalent is 1418N4S16S8.
