Hammond 1418N4SSS16 48x36x16 In Deep Type 4X Stainless Wallmount Enclosure

The 1418N4SSS16 is the 16 in deep version of the 48 x 36 in size: a 48 x 36 x 16 in (1,219 x 914 x 406 mm) Type 4X wallmount enclosure in 304 stainless steel. The part drawing shows 16.17 in of usable depth, giving space for deeper instruments and hydraulic or pneumatic control components as well as junction and terminal wiring, where equipment may be hosed down, very wet or subject to corrosion.

Every 1418 N4 SS enclosure is formed from 14 gauge stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The part drawing shows a door stiffener, which the series provides on larger enclosures for extra rigidity. The door is hung on a stainless steel continuous hinge that can be removed by pulling the hinge pin, and stainless steel clamps close it onto a seamless poured-in place gasket. A formed lip on the door and enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and there is provision for padlocking.

The included removable 12 gauge inner panel is 45 x 33 in (1,143 x 838 mm) with a white powder coat finish, mounted on collar studs. The drawing lists a door opening of 33.25 in wide by 45.25 in high. Welded brackets provide for mounting, and there is a bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a literature pocket inside the door.

Standards for the series: UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12; CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12; compliance with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The part lists UL File E65324 and CSA Cert. LR21001 and is RoHS and REACH compliant.

The enclosure and cover are natural brushed stainless steel. The 1418N4SSS16 has a listed shipping weight of 204 lbs (92.53 kg) and ships in a box. The 316 stainless version is 1418N4S16S16.
