The 1418N4SSM12 is a 36 x 30 x 12 in (914 x 762 x 305 mm) Type 4X wallmount enclosure in 304 stainless steel. The 12 in depth, with 12.17 in of usable depth on its drawing, leaves room for deeper components on the 33 x 27 in inner panel. It is intended for instrument enclosures, control housings for electric, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, junction boxes and terminal wiring where equipment may be hosed down, very wet or exposed to corrosion.
Construction uses formed 14 gauge stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams free of knockouts, cutouts or holes. A stainless steel continuous hinge supports the door and lets it be removed by pulling the hinge pin. Stainless steel clamps pull the door onto a seamless poured-in place gasket, formed lips exclude flowing liquids and contaminants, and padlocking is provided for.
The removable 12 gauge inner panel measures 33 x 27 in (838 x 686 mm), is white powder coated and mounts on collar studs. The drawing shows a door opening of 27.20 in wide by 33.20 in high. Welded brackets provide for mounting, and the enclosure includes a bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the body and a literature pocket for the inside of the door.
For compliance, the series is listed to UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. UL File E65324 and CSA Cert. LR21001 apply, and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
