Where a small footprint is needed but 6 in of depth is not enough, the 1418N4SSB8 keeps the 16 in H x 12 in W face of its sibling and extends depth to 8 in (406 x 305 x 203 mm). Built from formed 14 gauge 304 stainless steel, this Type 4X wallmount enclosure from the 1418 N4 SS Series is designed for instrument enclosures, junction boxes, terminal wiring and small electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings in wet or corrosive surroundings.

The drawing lists 8.17 in of usable depth behind a 9.21 in x 13.21 in door opening. A removable 12 gauge inner panel of 13.00 in x 9.00 in (330 x 229 mm) comes installed on collar studs and is finished in white powder coating.

The body uses smooth, continuously welded seams without knockouts, cutouts or holes and a formed lip on door and enclosure to keep flowing liquids and contaminants out. The door seals on a seamless poured-in-place gasket, is held shut by stainless steel clamps, and hangs on a stainless continuous hinge whose pin can be pulled to remove the door. Padlocking provision, a door bonding stud, an enclosure grounding stud and a door literature pocket are all included.

Welded brackets provide wall mounting with 0.44 in holes on 9.50 in x 17.25 in spacing. The series is UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The 1418N4SSB8 has a shipping weight of 26 lbs (11.79 kg).
