Hammond 1418JL11 36x24x11 In Type 12 Steel Wallmount JIC Enclosure

The 1418JL11 is a 36 x 24 x 11 in NEMA Type 12 wallmount enclosure from the 1418J series, built to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments where falling dirt, dust, oil and water are a concern. It is aimed at panel builders, OEM machine builders and plant electricians who want a ready-to-populate JIC-style box with its mounting panel already included.

The body is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes, so every entry is placed exactly where the layout needs it. The continuously hinged cover is secured with plated screws threaded into sealed wells, and permanently secured oil resistant gaskets seal the door. The cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating.

A removable 12 gauge inner panel measuring 33 x 21 in (838 x 533 mm), finished in white powder coating, is included and mounts on collar studs. The manufacturer drawing shows a 23.86 in door opening width and 10.02 in of usable depth. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud on the enclosure and a literature pocket on the inside of the door round out the fit-out. With an 11 in deep body on the 36 x 24 in footprint, the 1418JL11 gives just over 10 in of usable depth for drives, power supplies and other deeper devices while keeping the same panel size as the 7 in and 9 in versions.

Welded brackets provide for wall mounting; the drawing shows 0.44 in mounting holes on a 18.00 x 37.25 in pattern and an overall height of 38.25 in including brackets. The enclosure is UL 508A Type 12 (UL File E65324), complies with NEMA Type 12 and IP54 to IEC 60529, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Shipping weight is 96 lbs (43.54 kg).
