Hammond 1418D10 20x20x10-Inch Type 12 Wallmount Enclosure with Panel

Part 1418D10 is a 20 x 20 x 10 in (508 mm x 508 mm x 254 mm) wall-mounted control enclosure from Hammond's 1418 Series, with a continuous hinge door held by stainless steel clamps. It is designed to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments, and provides a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water.

The square 20 x 20 in face gives equal height and width for component layout, and the deeper 10 in body gives a usable depth of 10.01 in on the manufacturer's drawing. The door opening is shown as 17.25 in wide by 17.22 in high, and the side view shows an overall height of 22.25 in. A removable 12 gauge inner panel measuring 17.00 in (432 mm) high by 17.00 in (432 mm) wide is included and mounts on collar studs; it is finished in white powder coating.

The body and door are formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on both door and enclosure helps exclude flowing liquids and contaminants, and oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. The door can be removed by pulling the hinge pin, and there is provision for padlocking. Cover and enclosure are finished inside and out in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

Welded brackets provide for wall mounting, with 0.44 in diameter mounting holes shown on the drawing. A bonding stud is fitted on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure, and a literature pocket on the inside of the door. The 1418 Series is rated UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54 (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001). The 1418D10 ships in a box at 52 lbs (23.59 kg).
