The 1414N4SSA is the smallest enclosure in the 1414 N4 SS Series: a 4 x 4 x 3 in (102 x 102 x 76 mm) Type 4X stainless steel junction box with a lift-off cover. It is sized for compact terminal wiring points, small instrument enclosures and electrical junction boxes where equipment may be hosed down, very wet or exposed to corrosion.
The body is formed from 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams, and both cover and enclosure are left in a natural stainless brushed finish. The lift-off cover is secured with stainless steel clamps and screws and seals on a seamless poured-in-place gasket. A bonding stud on the cover and a grounding stud in the enclosure are provided.
Per the series construction notes, only models larger than 4 x 4 in include a removable inner panel, and the ordering table lists no panel for this size, so plan to mount components directly. The drawing shows a 4.31 x 4.31 in cover, a 3.30 x 3.30 in opening and 3.15 x 3.15 in of clear space available on the cover. Welded brackets carry 0.31 in mounting holes on 2.00 x 4.75 in spacing.
The enclosure is listed UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. Shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg) in a box.
