The 1414N4SSI is the 10 x 8 x 4 in (254 x 203 x 102 mm) size of the 1414 N4 SS Series Type 4X stainless steel junction box. It gives a mid-sized backplane for terminal blocks, splices or instrument hardware in electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring enclosures and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings that may be hosed down, very wet or exposed to corrosion.
Construction is 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and a natural brushed finish on cover and body. The lift-off cover is fastened with stainless steel clamps and screws and seals against a seamless poured-in-place gasket.
Inside is a removable 14 gauge inner panel measuring 8.75 x 6.88 in, finished in white powder coating and mounted on tapped studs. The drawing lists a 9.30 x 7.30 in cover opening, 3.35 in of usable depth and 9.15 x 7.15 in of clear space available on the cover. A bonding stud on the cover and a grounding stud in the enclosure are provided.
For mounting, welded brackets carry 0.31 in holes on 6.00 x 10.75 in spacing. The 1414N4SSI is listed UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It ships boxed at 11 lbs (4.99 kg).
