Hammond 1414N4ALM8 14x12x8 In Type 4X Aluminum Junction Box, Deep Body

The 1414N4ALM8 is the 8 in deep version of the 14 x 12 size: a 14 x 12 x 8 in (356 x 305 x 203 mm) Type 4X aluminum junction box with a clamped lift-off cover and removable inner panel. Choose it over the 6 in deep model when taller components or bulkier wiring need the extra depth in a wet, hosed-down or corrosive location.

Construction follows the 1414 N4 AL series: the body is formed from 0.08 in Type 5052 H-32 aluminum with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The lift-off cover is secured with easily operated aluminum clamps and seals on a seamless poured-in-place gasket. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting, a bonding stud is fitted on the door and a grounding stud inside the enclosure. Cover and enclosure are natural unfinished aluminum. The removable 14 gauge inner panel is finished in white powder coating and mounts on tapped studs.

The 1414N4ALM8 is 14 in x 12 in x 8 in (356 mm x 305 mm x 203 mm) (H x W x D). The inner panel is 12.75 x 10.88 in (324 x 276 mm), and the drawing gives 7.20 in of usable depth versus 5.20 in on the 6 in deep 1414N4ALM6. For layout, the manufacturer drawing shows an overall height of 15.50 in including the mounting brackets and an overall depth of 8.21 in, a 13.30 x 11.30 in cover opening and 7.20 in of usable depth. Mounting holes are 0.31 in diameter, and the shipping weight is 11 lbs (4.99 kg).

The series is listed to UL 508A Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and CSA Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529, IP66.
