The 125DSE is a 10 watt universal single ended tube output transformer for general purpose or replacement use (not Hi-Fi). It targets single ended amplifier builders and service techs who need more power handling than the smaller 125SE models while keeping the same flexible impedance matching.
The 125DSE carries up to 70 mA DC bias on a butt stacked 29M6 steel core with an air gap to reduce D.C. core saturation. The primary (BLU - BRN) reflects 10,000, 5,000 or 2,500 ohms, depending on which secondary lead is paired with the black common:
- WHT: 32 ohms at 10,000, 16 ohms at 5,000 or 8 ohms at 2,500 ohm primary
- YEL: 16 ohms at 10,000, 8 ohms at 5,000 or 4 ohms at 2,500
- GRN: 8 ohms at 10,000 or 4 ohms at 5,000
- ORG: 4 ohms at 10,000
Typical drawing values are 126.5 ohms primary DCR, 4.48 H primary inductance and 28.3 kOhm primary impedance at 1 kHz, 1 V. Secondary DCR ranges from 238 milliohms (black - orange) to 600 milliohms (black - white). Frequency response is 100 Hz - 15 kHz at full rated power, dielectric strength 1500 Vrms, and the temperature range -40 to 105C.
It is an open style transformer with minimum 12 inch primary and secondary leads. Dimensions are A 4.00 in (102 mm), B 2.10 in (53 mm), C 2.63 in (67 mm) and D 3.56 in (90 mm), with 0.19 in (5 mm) mounting holes; the unit weighs 2 lbs (0.91 kg). Made in Canada, RoHS and REACH compliant.
