Hammond 119Y60 60W 25V/70V Line Matching Transformer, X Mount

The 119Y60 is a 60 watt line matching transformer in the 119 Series (Audio Sound Distribution Line Matching). It takes an 8 or 16 Ω amplifier output to a 25 V or 70 V distribution line, and suits solid state amplifiers where isolated windings are not required. It can also be used with Hammond's "Classic" 1600 tube output transformers to provide a 25 V or 70 V line output, and it can be reversed for operation at high power speaker locations.

Per the part drawing, frequency response is 50 Hz to 10 kHz (0/-1.5 dB, reference at 1 kHz), distortion is less than 1% at 50 Hz, dielectric strength is 1500 VRMS and the temperature range is -40 to 105°C. Unlike the 6" minimum quoted for the series, the 119Y60 drawing specifies leads 9" long minimum.

Leads are colour-coded from a black common: Black-White (8 Ω) 0.516 Ohm, Black-Brown (16 Ω) 0.740 Ohm, Black-Orange (25 V) 0.584 Ohm and Black-Green (70 V) 2.300 Ohms DC resistance. Measured at 60 Hz, 10 V, the Black-Green (70 V) winding shows 2.52 H / 1.02 kOhm open circuit and 2.20 mH leakage inductance, with BRN, ORG and WHT shorted.

The 119Y60 uses X mounting on 2.00 x 2.19 in centers with 0.20 x 0.38 in hole slots. Series table dimensions are A 2.50 in (64 mm), B 3.25 in (83 mm), C 3.06 in (78 mm), D 2.00 in (51 mm) and E 2.19 in (56 mm). Weight is 3.30 lbs in the series table (shipping weight 3.3 lbs / 1.50 kg); RoHS and REACH compliant.
