Hammond 119Y100 100W 70V Line Matching Transformer, 8/16 Ohm Input

The 119Y100 is a 100 watt, 70 V-only line matching transformer from the 119 Series. It matches an 8 or 16 Ω amplifier output to a 70 V distribution line and is suitable for driving from solid state amplifiers where isolated windings are not required, or for use with Hammond's "Classic" 1600 tube output transformers to provide a 70 V line output.

The drawing gives frequency response of 50 Hz to 10 kHz (0/-1.0 dB, reference at 1 kHz), distortion of less than 1% at 50 Hz, 1500 VRMS dielectric strength and a -40 to 105°C temperature range. Like the rest of the series, it can be reversed for operation at high power speaker locations.

Wiring is by colour-coded leads, all 6" out minimum: COM BLK, 8 Ω WHT, 16 Ω BRN and 70 V GRN. Typical DC resistance is 0.353 Ohm (Black-White), 0.606 Ohms (Black-Brown) and 1.350 Ohms (Black-Green). At 1.0 kHz, 1.0 V open circuit, inductance / impedance is 355.39 mH / 2.28 kOhm (Black-White), 83.49 mH / 454.6 Ohm (Black-Brown) and 119.14 mH / 855.4 Ohm (Black-Green); Black-Green leakage inductance is 61.1 uH.

The 119Y100 uses X mounting on 2.50 x 2.19 in centers with 0.20 x 0.38 in slots. Series table dimensions: A 3.13 in (80 mm), B 3.50 in (89 mm), C 3.81 in (97 mm), D 2.50 in (64 mm), E 2.19 in (56 mm). It weighs 4.70 lbs in the series table (shipping weight 4.7 lbs / 2.13 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
