Hammond 119DA 600-to-8 Ohm CT Speaker Matching Transformer, 12W

The 119DA is a "Classic" 600 Ohm speaker matching transformer. It was developed in response to requests from the Collins Collectors Association as a matching audio transformer for older equipment with 600 ohm audio output driving modern low impedance speakers, and its drawing notes compatibility with legacy equipment manufactured by Collins Radio and Rockwell Collins.

It can also be used the other way round, for driving "classic" high impedance speakers from newer equipment: turn the 119DA around, swapping primary for secondary, for a 4 or 8 ohm input with 600 ohms out.

• Primary: 600 Ohms, on 6" wire leads
• Secondary: 8 Ohms with a 4 Ohm center tap, on solder lugs

• Frequency response 30 Hz - 20 kHz (+/- 1 dB at full power, 1 kHz reference, series; 0/-2.0 dB on the drawing)
• Distortion less than 1% at 30 Hz

Construction is an isolation type transformer with separate primary and secondary, concentric wound for excellent coupling, with a large core area for low frequency response and 29M6 laminations for low distortion. Dielectric strength is 500 VRMS and the temperature range is -40 to 105°C.

The 119DA mounts with a 2-hole bracket on 2 & 13/16" (2.81 in / 71 mm) centers with 0.19 in (5 mm) holes. Overall size is 2.00 in (51 mm) high, 3.28 in (83 mm) wide and 2.35 in (60 mm) deep. The series lists a weight of 1 pound, 4 oz; shipping weight is 1.4 lbs (0.64 kg). RoHS and REACH compliant.
