Hammond 101F 600:600 Ohm 1:1 Center-Tapped PCB Audio Transformer

The 101F is a miniature, epoxy-potted, 1:1 audio transformer with 600 ohm center-tapped windings on both sides. Designed for P.C. board mounting with pin-type terminals, it fits audio and telecom engineers who need 600 ohm isolation or balancing in a small, sealed package.

Rugged black epoxy potting makes a completely sealed unit that withstands severe environmental conditions, at a net weight of only 0.1 oz. Because the turns ratio is 1:1 and either winding may serve as the primary, the 101F can be installed in either direction.

According to the 101F drawing, typical output power is 0.100 W and frequency response is +/-0.5 dB from 200 Hz to 100 kHz. DC resistance is 44 ohms on primary pins 1-3 (22/22 ohms per half) and 52 ohms on secondary pins 6-8 (26/26 ohms). Inductance at 1.0 kHz, 1.0 V open circuit is 288 mH on each winding, with 2.86 kilohm impedance, and leakage inductance is 0.40 mH. Dielectric strength is 100 Vrms, and pins 4 and 5 have no connection.

Storage temperature is -40 to 105 degrees C and operating temperature is -40 to 85 degrees C. The drawing notes that the casting epoxy has a workable range of -40 to +105 degrees C under a normal rate of change, excluding thermal shock, and that material variations and environmental conditions may reduce it. The series data adds +/- 0.5 dB performance at +10, +15 and +20 dBm. This part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
