Hammond SDVN4XN2 Type 4X IP66 Enclosure Ventilation Kit, 2-Pack

The SDVN4XN2 is a Type 4X ventilation kit supplied as a package of two vents. It is designed to equalize internal and external pressure and temperature so enclosures can breathe, assisting in condensation prevention while keeping a UL & CSA Type 1, 3R, 4 and 4X and IP66 rating. It is aimed at panel builders and maintenance teams fitting Type 4X, 4 or 3R enclosures, metallic or non-metallic.

Each vent body is injection molded polycarbonate in RAL7035 Light Gray, flammability rated V-0 per UL94 and UV stabilized with an (f1) rating per UL746C. Internal baffles create an airflow pattern that lets air pass between the inside of the enclosure and the outside environment, and the gasket is (FIP) polyurethane material. Operating temperature is -31 °F to 266 °F (-35 °C to 130 °C).

Each vent measures 4.17 in x 2.96 in x 0.75 in (106 mm x 75 mm x 19 mm), and the kit ships at 0.4 lbs (0.18 kg). It suits enclosure walls from 16 gauge to 1/4 in; the supplied hardware covers mounting surfaces from 0.059 in to 0.250 in.

An installation template is included. Mark and drill four 3/16 in (0.188 in) mounting holes and a 1 in diameter vent opening, then mount the vent on the exterior with the supplied 316 stainless steel #8-18 x 1/2 in screws (four per vent, eight in the kit), torqued to 12-15 in-lb, with the vent slots pointing downward. Two vents on opposite sides, one high and one low, are recommended per enclosure. A Phillips screwdriver is required. The SDVN4XN2 is REACH and RoHS compliant.
