Hammond SDV280-1 Large Rainproof Enclosure Ventilator, Type 3R

The SDV280-1 is a large rainproof ventilator for electrical enclosures, sold as a package of one. It is designed to equalize internal and external pressure and temperature, and it assists in condensation prevention by allowing the enclosure to breathe. It suits panel builders and field technicians working with most types of metallic and non-metallic enclosures.

The vent is molded in corrosion resistant, UV stabilized polycarbonate with a RAL7035 Light Gray finish. A gasket protects the enclosure wall, and an internal vent channel and grille reduce insect intrusion. It complies with NEMA Type 3R and IEC 60529 IP24.

The ventilator is approximately 2.73 in (69 mm) high by 1.99 in (51 mm) wide and mounts to enclosure walls up to 0.16 in (4 mm) thick with standard screws. Shipping weight is 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg).

To install the SDV280-1, drill a 1-1/8 in hole, use the three small holes in the back plate to mark the screw centers, and drill three 5/32 in holes on a 1.63 in bolt circle. Assemble the vent cover, back plate and large O-ring over the hole pattern, then install the screws with their small O-rings, taking care not to overtighten.
