The SCR027009 is a 550 W high wattage fan heater for electrical enclosures, rated AC 120. It is aimed at panel builders and plant maintenance staff who need a large heating capacity inside control enclosures running on 120 V supplies. It maintains minimum operating temperatures inside the enclosure and helps prevent component failures caused by condensation and corrosion.
A built-in thermostat, adjustable from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and a control light are integrated, and heating power adjusts to ambient temperature thanks to a PTC semiconductor/resistor heating element. The fan moves 20 CFM of air, and the maximum temperature with the fan is 250°F/120°C. Inrush current is 14 A.
The housing is plastic rated UL94-VO, and the body of the heater is touch safe. The unit is Protection Class II (double insulated) with IP20 protection, and carries UL Recognized Component, cUL Recognized Component and CE approvals.
Installation is by clip onto 35 mm DIN rail, with wiring to a 3 pole terminal accepting up to AWG 14 (2.5 mm2). Heat exits the top of the heater, so allow 2 in of clearance for heat-sensitive parts. It is the 120 V, 550 W model of the series; a 230 V version (SCR027009230) and a 650 W model (SCR027019) are also listed. Shipping weight is 2.4 lbs (1.09 kg); the part is REACH and RoHS compliant.
