The RSSB2UBK is a 2U rack shelf slide block, supplied as a matched left-hand and right-hand pair, that keeps sliding rack shelves from extending unintentionally during transport, servicing and everyday operation. It suits IT and data centre teams, AV and broadcast integrators, telecom installers and OEM engineers who need a simple retention device for shelves already mounted in a rack.
Unlike a permanent locking device, the RSSB allows the shelf to operate normally when the release tabs are raised, then securely retains the shelf again when engaged. The open mounting slot design lets the brackets install over existing rack-mounted equipment without removing the shelf, which makes the RSSB2UBK practical for retrofitting live installations.
Construction is 16-gauge mild steel with a black powder coat finish that is GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant, providing a durable stop. Each pair ships with two stick-on rubber bumper feet. Overall dimensions are 3.00 in (76 mm) high by 0.75 in (19 mm) deep, with a 2U front profile of 3.47 in (88 mm) and a usable mounting height of 3.50 in (89 mm).
