Hammond RP1230BFC 165x125x55 mm IP65 Polycarbonate Enclosure, Clear Lid

The RP1230BFC is a water-tight polycarbonate enclosure from the RP Series With Bottom Flange, built with a clear lid and an integral bottom flange for surface mounting. It suits OEM engineers and integrators housing printed circuit boards or components, and is designed to meet IP65.

It is moulded in polycarbonate with a flame rating of UL94 V-2. The series ordering table lists this part as the off-white polycarbonate version, while the part page gives the colour as Light Gray. The gasketed lid uses two-piece "tongue & groove" construction to protect against access of oil, dust and water; the rubber gasket is included and must be field installed. The lid is secured with self-captivating M3.5 stainless steel machine screws (included) threaded into corrosion-resistant bushings, and it has a smooth recessed area (0.40 mm [0.02 in] inlay depth on the drawing) for a membrane, label or silkscreen.

The series ordering table and part page both give its size as 6.5 in x 4.92 in x 2.17 in (165 mm x 125 mm x 55 mm). On a wide 165 x 125 mm footprint at 55 mm tall, this body offers 47.80 mm of inside height and room for a PC board up to 151 x 114 mm. Per the drawing, the inside dimensions are 157.73 mm [6.21 in] long, 117.73 mm [4.63 in] wide and 47.80 mm [1.88 in] high, the overall length across the flange is 194.79 mm [7.67 in], and the flange mounting holes are 5.20 mm [0.20 in] in diameter. Shipping weight is 0.77 lbs (0.35 kg).

Inside, the RP1230BFC has PC board mounting posts that accept M3 self-tapping screws and internal DIN rail mounting tabs. Optional inner panels are available in plastic (STC124) or aluminum (STA124), with replacement gasket 2-pack RP124GASKET and 50-packs of lid screws (SC619-50) and PC board screws (SC622-50). The part is RoHS and REACH compliant. Avoid acetone, thread-locking compounds and cutting fluid, which can damage the plastic.
