Hammond RP1185BFC 165x85x85 mm Flanged IP65 Abs Enclosure, Clear Lid

The RP1185BFC is a water-tight ABS enclosure from the RP Series With Bottom Flange, built with a clear lid and an integral bottom flange for surface mounting. It suits OEM engineers and integrators housing printed circuit boards or components, and is designed to meet IP65.

The body is light gray ABS plastic with a flame rating of UL94 HB. The gasketed lid uses two-piece "tongue & groove" construction to protect against access of oil, dust and water; the rubber gasket is included and must be field installed. The lid is secured with self-captivating M3.5 stainless steel machine screws (included) threaded into corrosion-resistant bushings, and it has a smooth recessed area (0.50 mm [0.02 in] inlay depth on the drawing) for a membrane, label or silkscreen.

The series ordering table and part page both give its size as 6.5 in x 3.35 in x 3.35 in (165 mm x 85 mm x 85 mm). At 85 mm tall on a 165 x 85 mm footprint, this is the deepest body in the 165 x 85 family, giving 78.50 mm of inside height for taller components, terminal blocks or DIN-rail devices. Per the drawing, the inside dimensions are 158.23 mm [6.23 in] long, 78.23 mm [3.08 in] wide and 78.50 mm [3.09 in] high, the overall length across the flange is 194.95 mm [7.68 in], and the flange mounting holes are 5.00 mm [0.20 in] in diameter. Shipping weight is 0.62 lbs (0.28 kg).

Inside, the RP1185BFC has PC board mounting posts that accept M3 self-tapping screws and internal DIN rail mounting tabs. Optional inner panels are available in plastic (STC117) or aluminum (STA117), with replacement gasket 2-pack RP117GASKET and 50-packs of lid screws (SC619-50) and PC board screws (SC622-50). The part is RoHS and REACH compliant. Avoid acetone, thread-locking compounds and cutting fluid, which can damage the plastic.
